Privacy Policy

Information you provide

• Account information: your email address, password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider), callsign, and display name.
• Content you submit: messages, titles, captions, images, video, comments, replies, dedications, and any recipient details you enter (for example, an email address to receive a gift or time-capsule signal).
• Payment information: when you subscribe or receive affiliate payouts, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment or bank details. We do not store full card numbers or bank credentials; we receive limited information such as your subscription status, plan, and a customer identifier.
• Communications: information you send us by email or through support or feedback channels.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data: interactions with the Service, pages and features used, approximate time and counts, browser and device type, and log data such as IP address.
• Cookies and similar technologies: including a referral cookie set when you arrive through an invite link, and cookies needed to keep you signed in. See Section 5.
• Transmission and relay metadata: technical details associated with a signal, such as timestamps, frequency, packet hashes, telemetry, and (for stations that confirm a broadcast) an approximate location. Station locations are deliberately coarse (rounded to roughly a five-mile area); we do not store precise station coordinates.

Information from others

• Referral and affiliate data: if you were referred, we associate your signup and qualifying purchases with the referring member’s code for attribution and commission purposes; if you are an affiliate, we receive verification and payout status from Stripe.

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including creating accounts, transmitting signals, generating Certificates of Issuance, and displaying social content;
• To process payments, manage subscriptions, and administer the affiliate program and payouts;
• To personalize features, remember your preferences, and provide capacity, scheduling, and notification features you enable;
• To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse (including affiliate fraud and self-referrals), enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations;
• To communicate with you about your account, transactions, security, and, where permitted and subject to your choices, product news;
• To moderate content and respond to reports, appeals, and legal requests;
• To develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve machine-learning and artificial-intelligence models, features, and systems that support the Service (for example, content moderation and safety, search, captioning and title suggestions, personalization, and automated-agent (MCP) features); and
• To analyze and improve the Service.

We use content and data from the Service, including User Content you submit (such as messages, titles, captions, images, video, and comments) and associated metadata, to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve machine-learning and artificial-intelligence models, features, and systems that support the Service. Examples include content moderation and safety, search, captioning and title suggestions, personalization, and the automated-agent (MCP) features. Where feasible, we use aggregated or de-identified data for these purposes. Models and other outputs derived from this processing may be retained even after the underlying content is deleted, and are designed not to reproduce your individual content.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service, or on your consent where the law requires it. You may object to this processing, or withdraw consent where it applies, by contacting legal@spacesio.com. You should also assume that content you make public may be used by third parties, including for their own AI training, outside our control (see Section 7 on the public and permanent nature of transmissions).

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on these legal bases: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service); your consent (for example, certain communications, cookies, or optional features, which you can withdraw); our legitimate interests (such as securing and improving the Service and preventing fraud, balanced against your rights); and compliance with legal obligations.

We use necessary cookies to keep you signed in, secure your session, remember referral attribution, and store your cookie choices. With your consent, we also use optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics, loaded via Google Consent Mode with storage denied by default and IP anonymization enabled) and optional marketing cookies (the Meta Pixel, which is not loaded until you grant marketing consent). Non-essential cookies do not load until you opt in.

You can accept, reject, or customize optional cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice any time through the “Cookie settings” link in our footer. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out. For details, see our Cookie Policy at /cookies. Disabling necessary cookies through your browser may prevent the Service from working.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described here:

• Service providers: with vendors who process data on our behalf under contract, such as Stripe (payments and affiliate payouts), our hosting, database, and storage providers, and our transactional email provider. Where you enable optional social auto-posting, content and captions are shared with the third-party posting service and the destination platforms you select.
• Public and social features: content you make public (including transmissions, callsigns, profiles, comments, and share cards) is visible to other users and the public, may appear in feeds, search, station pages, and preview images, and may be re-shared or re-broadcast.
• Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our Terms, protect the rights, safety, or property of any person, or detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues. This includes reporting child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and authorities as required.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
• With your direction or consent.

SpaceSIO transmits content as radio signals and displays much of it publicly. You should assume that anything you transmit or post may become public and cannot be reliably recalled, retracted, or fully deleted from the world once transmitted or shared. A radio transmission cannot be called back, and copies of public content may persist with others, in caches, or in backups. Do not transmit or post anything you would not want to be public or permanent, and do not include sensitive personal information in your content. Deleting content from your account removes it from the Service going forward but does not undo a transmission that has already occurred or copies already made by others.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as necessary to comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and record-keeping obligations, to enforce our agreements, and for legitimate business purposes. Records tied to transmissions, certificates, payments, and affiliate commissions may be retained for extended periods for integrity and compliance. Residual copies may persist in backups for a limited time.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including hashing of credentials and API keys and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to appeal a decision. You can exercise many of these directly: update profile and preferences in your account settings, opt out of non-essential emails, and delete your account (which removes your data as described, subject to the retentions above). You may also contact us at legal@spacesio.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. You must meet the applicable minimum age described in our Terms (at least 13, or older where local law requires) and, where required, have parental or guardian consent. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child below the applicable age without required consent, we will take steps to delete it and close the account. Because age and age-assurance requirements vary by jurisdiction and are changing, we may apply age-confirmation or age-assurance measures where we deem it necessary or where required by law. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided us information may contact legal@spacesio.com.

We operate the Service from the United States and process information there and in other countries where we or our providers operate. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. If you consent to marketing cookies (such as the Meta Pixel), that activity may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or “targeted advertising” under some state laws. You can opt out at any time by declining or withdrawing marketing consent through the “Cookie settings” link in our footer, and we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out. The categories of information we collect, our purposes, and the parties we share with are described above. Royler LLC is the controller of your personal data. You may exercise your GDPR or UK GDPR rights as described above by contacting legal@spacesio.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as posting the updated Policy with a new effective date or providing notice in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
